Children – Kindergartens and Children’s Groups

can book the following standard activities:
– Animals in the Museum
– Puzzling Figures
The children can discover together with the art educator puzzling figures or odd animals during the guided tour. Afterwards, the small “artists” can get creative themselves. Paint will be mixed, fantasy figures built, and animals out of clay formed. As a special service we offer to bake the works of art in our very own kiln.

Children’s Birthdays

Are you creative and would you like to make a small work of art together with your guests on your birthday? Special guided tours and activities for private children’s groups can be booked for afternoons or weekends. There is a fee of 50 € and cost of materials 3 € per person.

Sunday Activities for Children and Young Adults

Everyone 4 years and older is invited to a guided tour for children each first Sunday of the month at 11.15 a.m. Together we will discover selected works of art and talk about their secrets. Afterwards, our craft room turns into an artist’s atelier for our young visitors. The event is approximately 90 minutes long; there is a guided tour for adults at the same time.

Young Adults – Workshops

Who would not like to create an artwork made of wood or clay or weld an object together? Under the title “werk.statt” (“work.shop”) the museum offers in occasional workshops on weekends or during summer vacation. View events for dates.

Schools

Besides a standard offer, which caters to students from first class to high school advanced art classes, we have additional interesting projects for each special exhibition.

Basic Program

– Contemplation of artworks and picture comparisons
– Working with clay on varying subjects
– Project “Klangreise” (“Sound Voyage”)
With whistles, drums, and rain pipes we take on a tuneful voyage through the museum and listen to the mysterious stories of the silent figures and pictures.
– Project “Chinesischer Korb” (“Chinese Basket”)
This is one of the smartest and simultaneously one of the most complex possibilities to get to know contemporary art without prior knowledge and to personalize the visit to the museum.

“Education Place” Museum – Offers for Teachers

On Thursdays after each exhibition opening at 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. a special introduction is hosted for teachers of every school type. Next a guided tour through the current temporary exhibition, the uniquely created museum pedagogical offer is explained.
